Brief Profile:
PhD in Biochemistry from Sri Venkateswara University. Tirupati. Postdoctoral research at National Institute of Nutrition (NIN-ICMR), Hyderabad.
Research Interests:
-
Research focused on metabolic disorders, age related diseases, neurotoxicology, nutrition, nutraceuticals, protein biochemistry, enzyme technology, and working with living organisms such as yeasts, bacteria and cell cultures for probiotic production. Evaluation of medicinal plants, phytoconstituents, isolation and characterization of active principles (antidiabetic, antiobesity and anticancer). Studies mainly focused on nutrigenomics of age related chronic diseases which include complications of diabetes and obesity using animal models.
Experience and Expertise:
- Research focus is on Metabolic disorders, Age related diseases, Nutraceuticals, Medicinal plants, Micronutrients and Probiotics. Evaluate Medicinal plants, Phytoconstituents, Isolation and characterization of active principles. Studies mainly focused on Nutrigenomics of age related chronic diseases which include complications of diabetes and obesity.
-
I am working on role of micronutrients in the development of diabetes and obesity complications and provided the basis for the influence of micronutrients on molecular processes involved in diabetes and obesity associated complications using animal models.
-
I concentrate on mutations which occur in some genes that cause age-related diseases through altered nutrition. My studies involves in developing suitable animal models for studying the disease biology of diabetes, prediabetes and obesity associated complications and also to understand the role of nutrition. I wish to describe age-related eye diseases-retinal degeneration and cataract, in a spontaneous obese rat models. I will work with living organisms such as yeasts, bacteria and cell cultures. I will plan and perform experiments on prebiotic and probiotics.
